Position Summary
PMA Consultants is actively seeking experienced Project Managers to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in managing traffic and transportation-related projects. This will be a hybrid position, alternating working from home and from the PMO in Alhambra, and then site visits throughout Los Angeles County. We are looking for candidates with a strong background in municipal infrastructure project management, particularly in the areas of permitting, construction, and project close-out, with a special emphasis on roadway infrastructure.

In this position, the successful candidate will:
    • Manage and oversee traffic and transportation-related projects with a focus on roadway infrastructure, ensuring successful execution from inception through completion.
    • Independently handle all aspects of project management, including project planning, development, scope control, budgeting, and scheduling.
    • Effectively communicate and collaborate with project teams, clients, and stakeholders through both oral and written channels.
    • Skillfully develop and review construction documents, project budgets, and project schedules to maintain project alignment.
    • Facilitate project team and client meetings, fostering productive communication and collaboration.
    • Negotiate and prepare change orders as needed to address project adjustments.
    • Monitor and coordinate construction activities, ensuring alignment with project goals and client expectations.
    • Adapt and respond effectively to project issues and challenges, implementing solutions to keep projects on track.
    • Set and manage project expectations while maintaining a high level of quality and compliance.
    • Demonstrate expertise in CEQA/NEPA and ensure adherence to environmental regulations.
Position Qualifications
    • A minimum of 10 years of project management experience for PM II or 15 years for PM III, with a strong background in municipal infrastructure projects.
    • Educational background in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field.
    • A Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute or a Certified Construction Manager (CCM) credential by the Construction Manager Certification Institute is required within 6 months of hire. PMA will cover the costs associated with obtaining the required credential.
    • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
    • Proven work experience in project planning and development.
    • Strong ability to independently manage all aspects of a project.
    • Proficiency in developing and controlling project scope, maintaining budgets, and managing schedules.
    • Skilled in reviewing and coordinating the preparation of construction documents.
    • Effective at facilitating project team and client meetings.
    • Expertise in negotiating and preparing change orders.
    • Adept at monitoring and coordinating construction activities with various project stakeholders.
    • Highly adaptable and responsive to project issues and challenges.
    • Comprehensive knowledge of CEQA/NEPA regulations.
$120,000 - $150,000 a year
The salary range for this position is $120,000 - $150,000.
A hired employee will be placed within this salary range based on a variety of legitimate business reasons, including but not limited to the individual's scope of relevant experience and geographic location.
Additional Requirements
Physical: Standing or sitting for long periods; must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times and spend extended hours in front of a computer screen.
Cognitive: Problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills; computer and software skills; and ability to read and interpret text online or in printed form.
